2020 – History repeats history

Petra Feriancová, Babi Badalov, Cyril Blažo, Stano Filko, Vladimír Havlík, Július Koller, Tamás St.Auby, Milan Tittel.

The exhibition aims at drawing the attention to some artists from Central and Eastern Europe, introducing them from a transgenerational point of view. The main theme is strictly connected with two essential aspects: the languages of new avant-gardes based on radical conceptualism, and the similarities among researches from different cultural contexts. In particular, some common characteristics from dialogues between strong and independent personalities stand out. This conveys the strength of a true art community whose local and international dimensions enhance each other. The leitmotiv of all the works on display is the use of simple or everyday life materials.

The exhibition is curated by Massimiliano Scuderi, director of Fondazione Zimei, and organized in collaboration with the Bratislava Phoinix gallery and the Slovak Arts Council.
